Abstract

The soundscape is intrinsic to several factors that influence the quality of the urban environment, such as noise exposure that can affect human health. In addition, the amount of sound sources has been increasing, which is directly linked to the population increase in cities and makes it important to analyze the human perception of everyday noises. The study aims to identify and analyze state of the art in studies focusing on urban soundscape both in the national and international context and contribute to the systematization of scientific knowledge on the subject. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology followed the Kitchenham and Charters protocol. The compiled articles indicate the existence of different methodological approaches but mostly use objective and subjective methods for data collection. The most commonly used objective parameter is the descriptor LAeq. The subjective approach uses questionnaires, photographic surveys, and video and audio recordings. Furthermore, it was possible to verify that micro-scale studies are more implemented because they present greater accuracy of results.
