O processo de apreensão e de re-criaçãodo mundo

Resumo

A transformação das atitudes e dos comportamentos, iniciada em Portugal nos finais do século XVIII, inscreve-se nos corpos dos portugueses até aos inícios do século XX, através de uma atenção constante às relações de cada indivíduo consigo próprio, no quotidiano, e à necessidademanifestadaem cadamomento, empráticase em discursos,de uma mudança profunda nos modos de viver dos portugueses. O olhar sobre o corpo, demorado, é orientado pelas exigências médicas e educativas. Essa legitimidade favorece, ao mesmo tempo, novas possibilidades de re-criação de si e do mundo em volta, sugerindo perspectivas e formas de intervenção social que se revelam originais. Assinala-se, nesta fase, uma mudança profunda na relação e no olhar dos indivíduos sobre si, sobre a natureza e sobre a sua relação com o mundo (físico e natural mas, também, social). A re-criação do mundo a que se procede corresponde a um processo de revelação inesgotável que persiste e abre novas inquietações.

Abstract:

The change in attitudes and behavior in Portugal, at the end of the XVIlIth century, is perceived til! the beginning of the XXth century by paying permanent attention to the individual with himself, in his daily life, and of a constant need, in practices and speeches, of a profound change in the lifescyleof the Portuguese. The extended observation of the body is recommended for docrors and educators. This legitimicy favours, new possibilities of re-creation of the world and of the individual himself, suggesting original forms of social perspectives and action. At this moment, a deep change in the way the individual sees himself, nature and his relation with the world (physical, natural, and social as well) is analyzed. The re-creation of the world is a process of endless revelations, which persist and bring on new anxieties.
