Resumo
Neste artigo a autora discute, através de depoimentos e reflexões pessoais, problemas referentes ao ensino de dança para meninos, enfatizando a preocupação e dificuldades que professores de dança geralmente têm em salas de aula ao tratar destes assuntos. A autora aborda questões como a homofobia, o homossexualismo e suas relações com a sociedade enfatizando a necessidade de uma relação diferente e diferenciada entre e sobre gênero nas aulas de dança em ambiente escolar. Para tanto, discute suas experiências como professora, pesquisadora e mãe, relacionando-as à história e ao status da mulher na sociedade americana.
Abstract:
in this article the author reflects about some problems concerning boys and dance giving emphasis to the difficulties most teachers have when dealing with these issues in school environmet. She brings questions about homophobia, homosexualism and their relationship with society, stressing the necessity of establishing a different approach to gender in education. She discusses her personal experiences as a teacher, researcher, and mother as related to women's history and status in American society.
