Resumo
Apesar do gênero ter ocupado um lugar na arqueologia pós-processual dos últimos cinquenta anos, algumas abordagens feministas e queer começaram, mais recentemente, a serem integradas na pesquisa de contextos arqueológicos por via dos gêneros não-binários, fluídos e trans-identitários, em particular no estudo de contextos norte-americanos, onde muitas sociedades são não-binárias. Por meio de uma abordagem reflexiva e teórica, este artigo examina a questão dos gêneros não-binários, fluídos e trans identitários nas sociedades antigas estritamente binárias, examinando como os arqueólogos podem, ou não, integrar essa diversidade de gênero na interpretação dos contextos funerários.
