A aplicação de técnicas psicológicas no desporto adaptado

Resumo

Objetivo: Examinar o modo como os atletas de elite do desporto adaptado aplicam técnicas psicológicas (i.e., definição de objetivos, imagética, diálogo interior e relaxamento) em situação de treino e de competição. Metodologia: Catorze atletas com deficiência motora e visual responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada. Recorreu-se a uma abordagem qualitativa baseada na análise temática para a análise dos dados. Resultados e discussão: Com exceção das técnicas de relaxamento, os atletas reconheceram a importância das técnicas psicológicas para a sua performance desportiva. Verificou-se um maior uso das técnicas em situação de competição. Conclusão: Os dados também evidenciaram que os atletas não conhecem todos os benefícios inerentes à aplicação das técnicas psicológicas e não estão familiarizados com as suas formas de treino.
