Abstract
The didactic project was carried out in a public school in São Paulo, with a group of 5th year of
elementary school. Guided by the cultural curriculum of physical education, teachers and
students tematizaram Muay-Thai and its transformations. Researched the origin in Southeast
Asia (in what is now Thailand) when it was used as a means of defense and attack in wars, until
today, as a martial art taught in various academies, including the school environs. The body
practice was thematized in debates, lectures, research on the internet and in magazines and
testimonials from practitioners. Teacher and students were able to learn the moves, rules, rituals,
ways to compete, intention of the people who practice and numerous historical and cultural
contexts of occurrence of the event. Simultaneously, they change its occurrence in school in
accordance with the positions of the group.
