Abstract

This interview presents practical and lived experiences in sports for people with disabilities.
Teacher Vanilton Senatore was one of the precursors of this area, acting in practice and
exercising leadership in the construction and implementation of public policies. He has a degree
in Physical Education, licensed by PUC Campinas in 1972 and active in Physical Education and
Sports for Persons with Disabilities since 1974. He participated in the Charter of Batatais that
"in December 1986, established the discipline of Adapted Physical Education in curricular
matrices from Physical Education Higher Courses. He has also worked on several national
projects involving people with disabilities. The experiences pointed out by Professor Vanilton
certainly contributed and contribute to the advances of Physical Education and Sports for People
with Disabilities.
