Cláusulas adverbiais in Náhuatl da huasteca veracruzana desde uma perspetiva tipológica funcional

Resumo

Este artigo analisa as cláusulas adverbiais em Nahuatl da Huasteca Veracruz (NHV), a língua Yuto-Asteca falada no México. Argumentamos que as propriedades formais das cláusulas adverbiais no NHV são motivadas por princípios funcionais gerais, particularmente seus valores semânticos. Nos concentramos em sete relações semânticas: precedência temporal, subsequência temporal, simultaneidade temporal, causa / razão, propósito, resultado e relações espaciais. A nossa análise apoia-se não apenas com evidências de NHV, mas também de outras línguas do mundo em que duas propriedades morfossintáticas são importantes: conjunções adverbiais e morfologia de TAM. Nossa proposta principal é que as diferentes relações semânticas codificadas nas cláusulas adverbiais dependam de certos mecanismos formais para expressar situações comunicativas específicas.
