Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and is not being evaluated for publication in another journal; otherwise it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format, according to the journal's template.
  • All webpages addresses (URLs) included in the text are active a ready to click.
  • The paper includes the title and abstract in Portuguese and English, the abstract has a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 250 words, and keywords (three to five words). The entire paper has 5000 to 8000 words, including the entire body of the text and tables, footnotes and references (in case of review papers the references should be excluded from the count). The body of the paper clearly describes the research objectives, methods, and procedures, the results obtained, and the theoretical contributions.
  • In case of submission to a section with double review process (academic papers and young researchers), the instructions available in 'Double Blind Review' were followed. The author identification of the work was removed (from the submitted file and from the option 'word properties'), in order to guarantee the confidentiality criteria of the journal and of the review process.
  • The authors are responsible for the information, pictures and data presented on the submitted work.
  • All figures, tables and charts have declared source.
  • Existing financial support for the research (public or private agencies), they were informed.
  • Article-processing charges: The article submission and evaluation process is free of charge. If the article is accepted for publication, the authors will be responsible for the costs of writing revision (spelling and grammar) and ABNT standardization, to be paid directly to the professional indicated by the journal.

Author Guidelines

REGISTRATION IN THE SYSTEM:

Upon registration, we ask you to provide all author information, including the URL, postal address, and biography summary. Inside URL, please inform the CV Lattes, GoogleMyCitations of ResearcherID link. On the biography summary, include a text of approximately 50 words informing: academic education, academic degree, affiliation, and research theme.

METADATA

On the authors' metadata, submit ALL items, both mandatory and optional. Always insert in Portuguese and English. In the name of the author, including all names except the last name. In the author's last name, include only the last name. Insert the main email corresponding to the one also informed in ORCID. Inform the URL (https) of CVlattes and ORCID. Inform the affiliation including the full name of the associated institution (do not include, department, laboratory, ...). Inform the summarized biography only including the most recent degree and the current link (e.g. Doctorate in Architecture and Urbanism from the State University of Campinas. Full Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Urbanism at the State University of Campinas).

About the metadata of the article, include title, abstract, and references equally to the manuscript, both in Portuguese|Spanish and in English. Inform the area in which the article fits, choosing between Architecture, Urbanism and Construction, and a corresponding subarea as listed in the table of knowledge areas of CNPq or CAPES. Inform the keywords also in the manuscript. Enter each keyword individually. Inform the study coverage: geographically and temporally (Brazil; contemporary). Inform the type of manuscript as texto (in Portuguese) and text (in English). Inform development agencies if the study received financial support.

TEXT FORMATTING:

Papers should be submitted over the journal's publication layout, in .doc or .docx files, in Portuguese, English or Spanish. The submission of papers in English is encouraged. In case of resubmission or expanded paper previously published in an event, modifications should be highlighted in blue font.

SUPPLEMENTARY DOCUMENTATION:

Additional documents can be necessary like, per example, authorization for the use of images/ charts/ tables/ of third parties.

COMMENTS TO THE EDITOR:

In case of resubmission, it is necessary to include in COMMENTS TO THE EDITOR a text informing to the editors how the reviewers' suggestions were embodied to the text. In case of an expanded paper previously published in a scientific event it is also necessary to include the event information and a text informing the editors significant modifications embodied to the text.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC FORMAT:

References and citations should follow ABNT formatting pattern. Examples of references: standards, legislation, books, websites, conference papers, journal papers, academic researches and maps are as follows.

Dossier

This section includes scientific articles submitted in thematic calls.

Review paper

For this section, it is expected the submission of articles from Systematic Reviews of Literature (SLR). The systematic term means that the review shall be conducted in accordance with a method designed to ensure that the review shall be impartial, accurate, auditable, replicable and updatable. 

Communications

This section is intended for works presented in scientific events as extended abstract or short paper but has not yet been fully published.
