Abstract
The work The instrumentalization of the body: an archeology of instrumental rationalization of the body, from the Classical Age to the hypermodern era, by Jacques Gleyse (2018), was born from his thesis, defended for more than two decades, and remains current in times of rationalization, sensitization and instrumentation of the body. The book was originally published in 1997 and was translated and first published outside France in 2018, by Editora LiberArs, in trustworthy and creative writing by Avelino Aldo de Lima Neto, Cláudia Emília Aguiar Moraes and Fábio Luís Santos Teixeira, all supervised by Gleyse and , moreover, living from his production and adventure in the world.
