Abstract
The interview with Professor Dr. Ernesto Morales Morales, from the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, presents an analysis of the Participatory Action Research (PAR) project, led by the professor - current coordinator - and other researchers/students since 2013. For nine years, the project was characterised as a public policy of social training for citizenship that, with funding from Barcelona City Council, brings the university closer to the region's public schools. The IAP seeks to investigate and improve local problems of social inequality that have emerged as a result of the global crises since 2008. The professor indicates the foundational bases of the project, its development over the years, an evaluation of its progress and its possibilities for the future, indicating that it is a policy that, even with challenges to overcome, shows great capacity to produce positive effects that are expected of subjects who are members of a democratic society, citizens and rights.
