Abstract
Launched in 2020, the present work The cruel pedagogy of the virus, (32p.) of sociologist Portuguese Boaventura de Sousa Santos (1940), professor at the University of Coimbra/ Portugal, and author of other works on the global south and on the periphery of the world, dealing with issues of human and social rights movements, cognitive justice and epistemological equity. The work consists of five chapters with a current and appropriate discourse on the crisis that the Chinese virus entitled COVID-19, or corona virus, brought to the world. A reflection beyond theoretical, with humanitarian bias and that highlights the social ills that existed in societies even before the discovery of the virus and aggravated with the evolution of it. A short text, but an important text, pertinent and powerful, with an inexhaustible discussion about the moment when the world and Brazil go through the pandemic. This work is part of the Pandemic Capital collection of Boi Tempo Editorial, responsible for a series of e-books
