Notes about the relations betweem feminine body and the city

Abstract

The general goal of this article is to discuss, as an introductory way, about the relations between the feminine body and the city, and tries to understand how the investigation of these relations could contribute to the understanding of the women experience at the city. With these notes, I try to investigate the different approaches to the opposition mind/body, and how this opposition is decisive in drawing the way we see the women’s body at the city. I leave some questions opened: Why it is important to look at the women’s history through the constitution of their bodies? Which elements, concerning the women’s history, the feminine body could reveal as seen through the lens of the city? Is there something specific about the women’s body constitution that concerns to the city?
