Gymnastics and historical-critical pedagogy: first approaches in the school Maria Luiza Costa e Rêgo

Abstract

Objective: This is an experience report that involved scholars from the Institutional Program of the Bolsa de Iniciação a Docência (PIBID) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), subproject of the Physical Education course. The main focus of the intervention was the EEFM School Professor Maria Luiza Costa e Rêgo, located in the neighborhood of Bengui in the city of Belém. As a general objective of this report, we sought to analyze the methodological possibilities for teaching gymnastics in school from the critical approach and historical-critical pedagogy. Methodology: From the methodological point of view, the work is based on the methodology of the action research, also making use of consultation in specialized bibliography. Results and discussions: we pointed out that the teaching of the basic fundamentals of gymnastics at school can be presented as a fundamental instrument for the cultural elevation of students when articulated with a solid pedagogical theory and innovative methodological processes. Conclusion: It is evident that the professional field of Physical Education in Brazil, especially the school area, has increasingly advanced its systematizations and the socialization of contents and innovative methodologies. In this way, we consider that the study in question penetrates this perspective, and can inspire transformative practices.
