The academic production on the popular educational movements of the 1960s and the peasant leagues: a look at theses and dissertations of the UFPB and the meetings of ANPED (2006-2016)

Abstract

The basic proposition of this article is to present an exploratory study about the popular educational movements of the 1960s, especially the Popular Education Campaign that was developed in Paraíba between 1961 and 1964 and the Peasant Leagues. The objective of this study is to map the academic production of the last ten years (2006-2016) based on two epistemic locus: the meetings of the National Association of Research in Education (Anped) and the Post-Graduate Program in Education Federal University of Paraíba-UFPB which contains a line of Research on Popular Education since the 1970s. The descriptive dimension of the academic and scientific production on the subject allowed us a theoretical and conceptual approach with the object of study, an ordering of the set of information and results obtained on the subject, evidencing the need for research that deals with the relation between these two practices developed in the State of Paraíba in the 1960s.
