Abstract
By questioning positions according to which women are incapable of humorous or ironic elaboration, this paper deals with the humor of American artists from the 1970s and 80s who identify themselves as feminists. The discussion covers the lack of comprehension of this humor, as well as how it is used by women not only as an intelectual elaboration, but also as a source of pleasure and a pedagogical weapon against gender injustice in the artistic field.
