Abstract

The attempt to retain the trivial, to bring visibility to the seemingly banal and thus to refuse everyday life´s dilution into oblivion is one of the features that can be identified in many artistic proposals that have been under development mostly since the second post-war. This production privileges a renewed contact with reality and finds translation through the appropriation, the use and the problematization of its materials, its objects and its gestures - as became particularly evident in Pop Art or in Nouveau Réalisme, but also in the different performative dynamics that acquired an increasing consistency over the subsequent decades and which continue to be currently explored. Starting from the 1960s, and taking as a reference the production of different artists who have recovered actions often considered as anonymous or residual (Lefebvre 1947), this paper aims at problematizing everyday life in contemporary art.
