Abstract
Knowledge structures. Power structures. Aesthetic-political modes of organization. Temporary authorities. Historical review exercises. Discursive adaptation operations. Plurality of formats, scales, agents, narratives. Experimental materialities. Interdependent bonds. New, old, other institutionalities. The thematic dossier of this edition of Revista Modos focuses on understanding how and under what circumstances institutional configurations have responded to the demands of artistic propositions and agents of the art system; also, in what ways these agents have thought and approached the institutions and modes of art institutionality since their practices; and, yet, how the different ways of existing in society have provoked other institutionalities in art. Networks that form, affect and are mutually strained, sometimes from traditional orientations, many of them replicating colonial models, and sometimes from counter-pedagogical exercises, inventing other ways of coexisting.
