Abstract

This article reflects the project in progress Lapidaries: an exhibition and reproduction session of the stones, in particular, the displacement of a privately constituted collection, a section of the library, of art publications and authors from the field of humanity knowledge, having the stone and their interlocutions with other fields for the exhibition space, an exhibition session, in June 2022, at Pinacoteca Barão de Santo Ângelo in Porto Alegre, with the interaction of visitors, as well as a meeting with artists who donated to the art publication project. Using as a theoretical basis reflections on the library of Georges Perec, collecting according to Walter Benjamin, as well as the histography of the table through Leo Steinberg, Georges Didi-Huberman, Yves Alain-Bois and Rosalind Krauss and poetics such as those of Rachel Whiteread and Robert Rauschenberg, aims, from the expository session that took place, to briefly reflect on the organization and the locus in which a library is installed and more further on the table as a device for presenting and exposing knowledge about stones condensed from countless printed copies and put into articulation between themselves, as well as the issues of horizontality that permeates contemporary productions and the visuality of the imagery.
