Resumen
Este ensayo analiza la relación entre el feminismo y el mundo del arte en el estado socialista de Polonia. Contrariamente a las narraciones que se centran en torno al feminismo de segunda ola desarrollado en Occidente, este ensayo se concentra en la trascendencia del proyecto socialista de emancipación de la mujer. Su significado se demuestra a través del estudio de exposiciones de mujeres, más precisamente de tres espectáculos que se organizaron en aquellos momentos en que los temas de las mujeres se discutían intensamente en Polonia: Mujeres que luchan por la paz (Cracovia, 1952), Festival de Arte de Mujeres (Poznań, 1980 ) y Mujeres artistas polacas (Varsovia, 1991). Las principales preguntas abordadas en el análisis son qué discursos sobre las mujeres y las mujeres artistas influyeron en el mundo del arte en un período determinado y cómo evolucionaron en relación con la cambiante situación política. El estudio muestra que el proyecto socialista de emancipación de la mujer desempeñó un papel importante, tanto positivo como negativo, en el desarrollo de la historia del arte y el activismo feministas en Polonia.
