Abstract
Whilst information dissemination has been the subject of much scrutiny, two contemporary best sellers offer the opportunity to discuss some aspects about the concept of truth, the search for truth, information access, motivation and individual criteria regarding information seeking behavior. New technologies pervade this scenario, creating a new communication order, in which the ultimate information consumer is now the solely responsible for his/her (cognitive) information quality control. A new class of ideas is rising on this matter, named so far as “intellectual rights”.
