Abstract
The Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology has emerged as a tool for automation, security and management of library collections. This article describes the initial process of RFID labels deploying in the Library of Centro Universitário Univates (UNIVATES), describing human and computer resources involved. The time between planning and execution of recording and labeling occurred from November 2013 to March 2014. We conclude that the preparation process of the collection to receive this technology is prolonged and costly, however with the appropriate planning, and using resources of information technology allow greater reliability and agility.References
