Abstract
This review presents the book "The wisdom of the librarian", written by Michel Melot, which was translated from French (La sagesse du bibliothécaire) by the publishers Ateliê Editorial and Edições SESC. The theme of the book is focused on bibliophilia, librarians and Librarianship as a profession. A work with 147 pages, published the first Brazilian edition in 2020. It was published in a pocket format in hardcover differentiated from conventional publications, and belonging to the "Coleção Bibliofilia" of the cited publishers..
