Abstract

Introduction. The term 'informational resilience' represents an emerging concept encompassing notions of adaptation, integrity, and information sustainability, with applicability across various knowledge domains. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of its development and fundamental concepts is important for steering future research in this field. Objective. The objective of this study is analyze the thematic evolution within the research field of informational resilience. Methodology. A systematic literature review was undertaken, employing bibliometric analysis through the Web of Science database. The analysis operationalization was supported by software tools StArt, citnetexplorer, and VOSviewer. Results. The study analyzed 34 articles, and the results indicate a diffuse, emerging research field rife with ambiguities. The fields of computer engineering and information science are the most productive and relevant in terms of publications on this topic. The study also highlights theoretical tensions resulting from an overly optimistic bias in approaches that use the concept. Conclusion. The study contributes to comprehension of the research field's development through an analysis of key publications, most cited authors, addressed topics, and the underlying foundations of its evolution. The analysis suggests that future research should focus on the inherent paradoxical nature of the concept.
