Call for selection of new PEHCT master's and doctoral students entering in March, 2024

The Graduate Program in Teaching and History of Earth Sciences (PPG-EHCT), linked to the Geosciences Institute (IG) of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), conducts research and studies on multiple aspects of Earth knowledge: Geosciences , Geology, History, Natural Sciences, Environmental Education, Geological Heritage, Geoconservation, Geotourism, Legislation and Environmental Law, focusing on curricula and programs at different levels of education, teacher training, scientific dissemination, teaching and learning, didactic material, innovation, technologies educational. Due to its unique profile, PEHCT is the only Brazilian PPG that develops themes of Education and History of Geology and Geosciences in the country. The concentration area is well articulated, has good adherence and is fully up-to-date. The profile of the PPG results both from the inter- and multidisciplinary nature of the faculty and students, and from the socio-environmental challenges of the coming years, derived from the need to increase the penetration of geoscientific knowledge in the population and in legislation. Many public agents dominate legal knowledge, but lack geoscientific knowledge and knowledge about the history and dynamics of the environment. The program aims to train masters, doctors and support postdoctoral researchers in three research lines: Research Line 1 HFC – History and Philosophy of Natural Sciences; Line of Research 2 ECN – Education, teacher training, educational technology and communication in Natural Sciences; Line of Research 3 GGG – Geoethics, Geoconservation/Geopatrimony, Citizenship and Environmental Legislation. The lines of research combine interests, thematic connections, concerns and interdisciplinary projects that professors and students develop, with interconnections between different specialized fields of knowledge.
