Abstract
On the morning of February 17, 2022, the international Geosciences Education community lost a great leader, Dr. Chris King, Professor Emeritus at Keele University, UK. Jovial, averse to formalities, kind, always willing to listen, advise and guide, endowed with an extraordinary personality and extreme ability to stimulate and introduce young talents towards the mysteries and wonders of the Earth's knowledge, Chris stood out as a teacher, researcher, citizen and family man. The Brazilian Society of Geology records the legacy of knowledge he built on the international scientific scene, with notable developments in Brazil.
