Abstract

The Climate Studies Group of the University of São Paulo (GrEC-USP) was created in 1997 by undergraduate and graduate students of Atmospheric Sciences with the aim of holding monthly discussions about climate and its variability, with special focus on Brazil, summarizing these discussions in form of monthly reports. Over the years, the Group held these monthly discussions and reports that became available to the academic community and general public. In addition to the reports, the group also began to provide products for climate monitoring and forecasting, in addition to promoting extension activities and scientific dissemination at the service of society. This paper presents the evolution of the Group over the years, as well as all its scientific production, with the aim of propagate its activities and honoring all students and researchers who participated in the 25 years of GrEC-USP’s history.
