Abstract
On April 1, 2024 the Geologist Dr. Andrea Bartorelli died. His passing opened a huge gap for everyone who has meet him and dreams with strong, robust and internationally renowned scientific institutions. The list included museums, research centers in the fields of Geology and Geotechnics, private companies and national universities. Dr. Bartorelli stands out for his pioneering and leadership in topics linked to his specialties: Engineering Geology, Geotechnics, Mineralogy, Gemology, Tectonics, Structural Geology, among other segments of Geosciences. His professional resume records his competencies in the following areas: Consulting geologist in the areas of geology and geotechnical surveying, environmental studies, engineering, mining and geological and geotechnical cartography projects and planning for the use of water resources, with the production of more than 290 reports and technical reviews. His scientific production also includes articles, books and publications on Geology, Mineralogy, Geophysics, Engineering Geology, as well as executive studies for the construction of barrages and other major engineering works.
