Author Guidelines
ETD - Educação Temática Digital aims to publish articles, communications, experience reports/case study, dossiers, research, essays, and book reviews which are relevant to the educational field and to related areas.
Striving for the dissemination of the broadest plurality of thoughts, ETD stablishes a hiatus policy of, at least, 12 months between two publications from the same (co)author.
Submitting a manuscript to the journal entails that the manuscript has not been previously published nor is it being considered for publication elsewhere.
If the submitted manuscript originated from a thesis/dissertation, it is important to indicate, in a footnote, this information, without, however, pointing out the authorship or the title of the thesis/dissertation. For example: “this paper originated from a thesis/dissertation”.
A doctoral title is required; if there is more than one author, at least one of them must have a doctoral title.
Every author must be registered at ORCID. The link to access and register for an ORCID iD is: https://orcid.org
The editorial process will begin only in February for the submissions made between November and January.
Manuscripts submitted to the different sections of the journal will be evaluated by members of the Editorial Board and ad hoc reviewers. If changes or corrections are suggested, the originals will be returned to the authors. Publication entails the full cession of copyrights in all languages to the School of Education/UNICAMP.
After the approval of the manuscript, authors must proceed to copy editing the text, by a professional with experience in the field, whose full name must be present in a footnote at the end of the text. Any expenses incurred from this process are the responsibility of the authors.
Editors reserve the right to perform changes or cuts in manuscripts received to adequate them to the journal’s norms, respecting the style of the author and the original content.
IMPORTANT: consult the item “News” on the journal’s website to receive information regarding the situation and the contextual policies that may be in force at the time of submission.
Submission of original manuscripts
Original manuscripts must be submitted directly into the system. The journal does not accept manuscripts submitted outside of the system. When in doubt, contact the journal through the email: etd@unicamp.br
ETD - Educação Temática Digital accepts manuscripts in Portuguese, English, and Spanish for all of its sections. The manuscripts must be digital, in Word format (.doc), using the ETD template as a basis for the structure of the text. Using the template is mandatory, otherwise the manuscript will be rejected in the pre-evaluation.
The text must be presented formatted to the template below, containing between five and 20 pages.
Observation: the manuscript that surpasses 20 pages will be returned.
The counting of words must include notes and references.In direct citations, it is necessary to specify the author, the year, and the page of the citation. Every citation from other languages must be translated to Portuguese; the inclusion of the original text, in the original language, in a footnote is optional.
Authors must highlight terms and expressions in the text using single quotes, not italic or bold.
- Tables and figures – tables, figures, drawings, illustrations, and images in general must be inserted in the body of the text, following the instructions found in the template. Scanned images must be presented in a resolution of at least 600 real dpi (non-interpolated), in their original sizes, saved in JPEG format and in RGB colors. Chromes and slides must be presented with at least 2,500 real dpi (non-interpolated). Tables must be presented in Word files; graphs and spreadsheets, in Excel files, always with an indication of title and source. Images cannot be annexed to Word files because the supported resolution is not high enough for printing. Materials from digital cameras must have at least three megapixels of optical resolution without compression (high definition mode). Every image must be properly numbered and have legends, captions, and an indication of source. The title for this type of material must follow these standards: For FIGURES, place the word ‘Figure’ beginning with a capital letter, followed by progressive numbering separated by a hyphen. For example: “Figure 1 – Restored classroom” must be placed, as a caption, below the figure. For CHARTS the title must be placed above the image. For Example: “Chart 1 – The school structure”. TABLES must contain a heading, placed above the table, which allows for the understanding of its data without the reader needing to refer to the text. Please follow IBGE’s norms for tables.
- Title – The manuscripts title must be in the text’s original language, followed by its translation (English and Spanish), reflecting the content of the text.
- Abstract – Manuscripts must have an abstract in the text’s original language with, at most, 250 words.
- Keywords – Authors must present up to five keywords, in the text’s original language, representative of the manuscript’s content.
- Notes – Notes should be kept to a minimum, numbered consecutively throughout the text, and formatted as footnotes.

Observation:
The use of the template’s structure is mandatory. Manuscripts not formatted in the indicated structure will be rejected.
- Instructions for the elaboration of the reference list - Every cited title and document must be included on a list titled References, in the end of the article, making no distinction between books, periodicals, documents, etc. The adopted norm is the NBR-6023/2002, and the references must follow the journal’s standards.
Observation:
In the reference list, highlight titles in bold (subtitles must not be bold) instead of underlining or using italics (NBR-6023:2002).

The copyrights of the published articles belong to the journal; therefore, the authors cannot publish the text elsewhere without first consulting the journal’s editors. Due to them being published in this public access journal, the articles are free, with their own attributions, for educational and non-commercial uses. Hence, it is also mandatory to annex the Originality Declaration of the article as an additional document, in the act of submission.

Dossiê
Critérios para Organização de Dossiê/Dossier criteria for organization
Os dossiês devem ter um caráter interinstitucional e abordar temáticas de relevância para a área de Educação, de forma a ampliar o debate acadêmico, fomentar intercâmbios de pesquisa e/ou adensar as experiências formativas em investigação e/ou ensino.
A avaliação da proposta de dossiê acontece em duas etapas, ambas realizadas via sistema online da revista ETD - sempre por meio de chamadas públicas para publicação. A Revista não recebe proposta de dossiês fora destes períodos.
Primeiramente, deve ser inserida na plataforma uma ementa do dossiê, com nome e identificação institucional dos proponentes (três, no máximo, e dois deles com título de doutorado), bem como com os títulos e resumo dos trabalhos, autores e filiação institucional.
Nesta primeira etapa, os artigos completos não devem ser apresentados.
A proposta do dossiê deve obrigatoriamente conter:
- Breve ementa do Dossiê;
2. Relevância da temática proposta para o campo educacional;
3. Eixo temático do Dossiê: as propostas devem ter como eixo um tema bem definido;
4. Nome e resumo de cada artigo e autores/as: nomes completos e filiação institucional: os artigos devem ser de autoria de pesquisadores/as de instituições que, preferencialmente, não se repitam no mesmo dossiê (instituições diferentes). O dossiê deve conter entre 5 (mínimo) e 10 (máximo) artigos.
5. Responsável (is) pelo Dossiê: nome, instituição e e-mail. O dossiê pode ser proposto por até três pessoas, sendo que, no mínimo, duas deles devem ter o título de Doutorado.
IMPORTANTE:
As propostas de Dossiês devem ser compostos por uma apresentação de, no mínimo, cinco e, no máximo, dez artigos, reunindo autores/as filiados/as a, no mínimo, cinco instituições e contando, preferencialmente, com a participação de, pelo menos, dois autores/as ou coautores/as filiados/as a instituição estrangeira. Só será publicado como Dossiê um conjunto mínimo de cinco artigos aprovados pelos pareceristas. Em caso de aprovação de apenas um ou dois textos, esses poderão ser publicados isoladamente.
Após a primeira fase, caso seja aprovada a proposta de dossiê, os artigos completos que compõem o dossiê devem ser inseridos na plataforma online da revista e entrarão em avaliação por pareceristas, seguindo o procedimento usual da revista, ou seja, duplo-cego, no mínimo.
São condições para a submissão dos artigos do dossiê:
- Seguir as normas de publicação da revista e padronização bibliográfica (referências e citações);
- Que as submissões dos trabalhos que comporão o Dossiê sejam registradas diretamente no sistema, conforme orientações em: "Submissão Online". Não aceitaremos submissão via e-mail. Além de tudo, cada autor/a deve preencher os termos da "Declaração de Originalidade" constante no link: "Declaração de Originalidade ".
O dossiê só será publicado caso o mínimo de 5 (cinco) artigos seja aprovado no sistema de avaliação por duplo-cego. Os artigos aprovados, caso não sejam publicados no dossiê, poderão sê-lo no fluxo contínuo da revista.
