Abstract

Tropicália, the work presented by Hélio Oiticica in the exhibition New Brazilian Objectivity, as well as the catalogue text the artist wrote for the show announce the emphasis on the collective and on the potential of art to promote subjectivities that do not separate the realms of ethics, politics and aesthetics. Thus, it is possible to align the ambiental structures developed by Oiticica to the conceptual structures built by thinkers such as Jacques Rancière, Gilles Deleuze and Toni Negri, identifying Oiticica's labyrinths as structures that are emancipating, nomadic and constructive of the multitude.
