Image and Self-image: Artist’s Work

Abstract

Commentary about the exhibition Artist's work: image and self-image (1826-1929), held at the held at the São Paulo Pinacoteca from December 8, 2018 to February 25, 2019. The exhibition, organized around four main axes (The artist's personas, The studio as a motif, Allegories of the craft and The artist and the model), gave the public the opportunity to know or review important artworks. The show also serves as an opportunity to reflect on the research about these subjects within the discipline of Art History in Brazil.
