Collections like ships, fragile are not just the migrants

Abstract

Leila Danziger’s exhibition Navio de emigrantes [Emigrants Ship] (2018), departs from the Lasar Segall’s homonymous painting to reflect on migrations, be it by the Jews of the first half of the 20th century, or the recent diaspora of Africans and Asians towards Europe. Analyzing the conections between memory and identity, we will raise some possible discussions suggested by the exhibition.
