Abstract
The author analyzes the exhibition Artist's work: image and self-image (1826-1929),, held at the São Paulo Pinacoteca from December 8, 2018 to February 25, 2019, curated by Fernanda Pitta and co-curated by Ana Cavalcanti and Laura Abreu. The exhibition presented a set of 120 works by 33 artists and sought to reflect on artists portraits and self-portraits, the allegories on artistic crafts, the representations of the artists' studios and the models used.
