Abstract

Between 1992 and 2005, five editions of the inSITE international exhibition were held in the cities of San Diego (United States) and Tijuana (Mexico). Following the model of the international biennials and having the commitment to promote the spread of art in the public spaces of the two cities and adjacencies, the editions of inSITE, although not very well known in Brazil, are an important object of study for the deepening of investigations and reflections about public art in the last thirty years and, by extension, the production of art in the contemporary. In this article, we dedicate ourselves to investigate the relations between artists and curators in the 2005 edition of inSITE.
