Resumo

Introdução: A Inteligência Artificial (IA) tem emergido como um instrumento estratégico na transformação dos serviços bibliotecários, especialmente no que se refere à promoção da acessibilidade digital em bibliotecas académicas. Apesar do seu potencial inclusivo, persistem desafios estruturais, éticos e formativos que comprometem a sua eficácia plena. Objetivo: Este artigo analisa criticamente o papel da IA na promoção da acessibilidade informacional em bibliotecas académicas, à luz de uma revisão sistemática da literatura científica recente. Metodologia: A investigação baseou-se numa revisão sistemática da literatura, com seleção criteriosa de 31 estudos internacionais entre 2006 e 2025. A análise privilegiou artigos que abordam a interseção entre IA, acessibilidade, ética e práticas institucionais em bibliotecas de ensino superior. Resultados: Os resultados evidenciam avanços tecnológicos significativos, incluindo soluções baseadas em leitura automática, assistentes inteligentes e interfaces inclusivas. No entanto, revelam também um déficit na literacia digital dos profissionais, ausência de normativos claros e exclusão de utilizadores com deficiência nos processos de conceção tecnológica. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o uso da IA em bibliotecas académicas deve ir além da inovação tecnológica, exigindo uma abordagem crítica e participativa, ancorada em políticas institucionais de inclusão, formação especializada e regulação ética. Apenas com este alinhamento será possível transformar verdadeiramente as bibliotecas em espaços acessíveis, equitativos e centrados no ser humano.
