diversificação de Archosauromorpha após a Extinção Permo-Triássica

Resumo

Archosauromorpha é definido como o clado que compreende todos os diápsidos mais intimamente relacionados à linhagem de aves (Ornithodira ou Avemetatarsalia) e crocodilianos (Pseudosuchia ou Crurotarsi) do que aos lepidossauros. Além de seus táxons basais (e.g., Tanystropheidae, Rhynchosauria e Allokotosauria), Archosauromorpha inclui o clado Archosauriformes, que, por sua vez, inclui os Archosauria. Durante o Triássico, os arcossauromorfos tornaram-se um dos primeiros grupos de diápsidos a se diversificar em termos de tamanho corporal e disparidade morfológica. A extinção em massa Permo-triássica, ocorrida há 252 milhões de anos, produziu uma mudança dramática na composição das comunidades florísticas e faunísticas no início do período Triássico. A diversificação de Archosauromorpha durante o Triássico tem sido o foco de estudos recentes, o que se deve ao fato de que este clado é um exemplo clássico de radiação adaptativa. Aqui sintetizamos informações relevantes sobre a morfologia, paleobiologia, e diversificação do grupo após a grande extinção em massa do final do Permiano, evento responsável pelo início da consolidação das faunas modernas.
