Abstract
Since its foundation, the “Sociedade de Geofísica Aplicada”, a student chapter of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists of the School of Mines of the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), aims to disseminate knowledge and interest in Geophysics. Among the various means used for this purpose, stands out the promotion of scientific events that involve the academic environment. Among them, the "Café Geofísico", a bimonthly event, and the “Workshop of Applied Geophysics”, promoted annually. In these events, each one with its particularity, professionals of Geophysics and related areas are invited, for sharing their experiences and knowledge, thus narrowing the interaction between professionals of the area and undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to connect courses with similar characteristics. This work presents characteristics of these events, their development methodology and results, as well as discussions about their contributions regarding the dissemination of subjects related to geophysics in academic environment.
