Abstract
The extension project Introduction to Volcanology: scientific knowledge through social networks at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) analyzed the scientific, educational and social impact of actions made possible by digital resources intended for teaching volcanology. This is participatory action research in which the database contains samples of work produced by extension workers. The evaluation method of the works analyzed here sought to examine the student's resourcefulness in the construction of their own material following the guidelines of the responsible teacher and guided by the help of the other project members. The student’s participation was essential for the maintenance of the pages on social networks, in which they could exercise their creativity and demonstrate the results of their research by means of publications shared with followers both within the university and externally.
