Abstract
We will report the workshops we gave at IV EPEM (january 1996, São Paulo, SP) and at Meeting of History and Mathematics Education (ICME-8 satellite meeting, july 1996, Braga, Portugal) to teachers and professors of Mathematics. We had two goals: the first one was to lead teachers and professors to a reflection about the fundaments of differential calculus. We used the History of Mathematics to reach this goal. We hoped to pose questions both, teachers and professors about their conceptions of differential calculus. The second goal was to analyze this methodology that use History of Mathematics to pose questions. Besides, we tried to analyze what as “to pose questions” at this approach. We used both, reading texts and problem discussions as procedure.
