Truth is only one! political and ideological dispute in children literature

Abstract

The article discusses the effects of the reemergence of the conservative right in Brazil in Education, based on the denunciations of three books of children's literature, considered inadequate to the children and youth public according to its theme. For this, two antagonistic approaches in the field of reading are considered: the first is the one that affirms, in the radical-liberal perspective, that it is the reader who would give meaning to the text, reading itself and its history in the books of literature; the second attributes the meaning of the narrative to the text, and it is up to the reader to interpret it from its objective and subjective reading conditions. It concludes that the tutelage of school literary readings integrates a greater project of control and erasure of world views divergent to conservative policies, independently of reading operations.
