Evaluation as a political device: a critical look at evaluation in professional training in Physical Education

Abstract

In this text, evaluation is presented as an object to be treated, understanding this category as something much more complex than the simple teacher's reflection on the teaching task. The primary objective of this article is to make evaluation visible as a fundamentally political category, which functions as a device, which stresses all educational practices, and which is framed within the modern episteme, which is what governs all educational practices. institutions in the West, conforming a type of determined formation, for a determined subject, consistent with a society also determined. With an approach that establishes a displacement of the usual studies proposed by education in general, the object of treatment presented here, that is, evaluation, is thought of as a procedure that, justified in pedagogical premises, forms an institutionalization device and, therefore, of government, capable of taking different forms, always governed directly by the premise of progress and the development of individual freedoms. Constantly supported by the institutions, its strategic objective is to support the capitalist system, consistently forming the order it establishes, prioritizing the reproduction of the modes that the subject must acquire, defining for this, the bases of legitimate knowledge that privilege their constitutive forms and that establishes the dominant discursive practices.
