Resumo
Esse artigo lança um olhar crítico sobre o que o fenômeno do chamado discurso da “pós-verdade” significa para os fundamentos epistemológicos da pesquisa em Linguística Aplicada, especialmente estudos embasados no que tem sido chamado a visão “pós-moderna” da vida social. A partir de uma perspectiva de narrativa enquanto performance, proponho que a disseminação da pesquisa pode ser vista como uma prática metanarrativa e que a validade e a solidez do conhecimento são, portanto, construídas durante eventos narrativos ‒ encruzilhadas nas quais estas metanarrativas são interrogadas por pares, participantes, editores e assim por diante. Sobretudo, argumento que a narrativa comovente (tanto aquelas contadas por participantes da pesquisa, quanto as metanarrativas costuradas pelo pesquisador) podem ser catalisadoras na identificação de pontos de articulação entre os alegados polos de emoção e razão a fim de avançar as questões sociais no cerne da Linguística Aplicada ‒ questões que podem ser marginalizadas ou deslegitimadas por aquilo denominado discurso da “pós-verdade”. Alinhado com o conceito latouriano de redes ‒ as quais fundamentalmente moldam a construção de conhecimento ‒ sugiro ainda que as relações de poder com as quais se encontram entrelaçadas precisam ser interrogadas mais a fundo para que tais narrativas alcancem um público mais abrangente e, potencialmente, acarretem a transformação social.
