Abstract
Flores de Baobá desafia nossas expectativas em relação a possibilidades de luta de mulheres negras. Em comunidades negras, formadas na Diáspora Africana no Brasil e nos Estados Unidos, duas mulheres tomam a educação como espaço ativo para a conscientização racial e atuação comunitária. Nesse documentário, ainda em fase de montagem, a cineasta Gabriela Watson Aurazo acompanha a trajetória das educadoras Nyanza Bandele, na Filadélfia (EUA), e Priscila Dias, em São Paulo, mostrando que, a despeito das diferenças culturais, ambas enfrentam problemas similares, decorrentes da dificuldade de acesso à educação de qualidade, do racismo estrutural e da desigualdade social.
