Resumo

Num momento de crises convergentes e existenciais, o artigo defende e examina o significado de uma cultura democrática e política como primeira prática, sendo estas vistas como condições essenciais para a mudança transformadora necessária para a sobrevivência e o florescimento. Embora reconhecendo que tal mudança precisa de ser abrangente, incluindo toda a educação, o artigo considera, em particular, o significado da cultura democrática e política como primeira prática para a educação de infância, e alguns dos processos que as podem levar a cabo.
