Collaborative learning and philosophy: the pandemic context at a Federal Institute

Abstract

During the pandemical period from COVID-19 it was necessary to promote social isolation, and presential classes interruption practically over Brazil. So that it was necessary to develop remote classes. The aim of this paper is to develop a teaching strategy to reach a peculiar region lacking Internet structure, at IFPA-Campus Óbidos, the north side of the Amazon River. So that, during Philosophy remote classes, it was proposed a way to adopt popular tools such as Google Meet and WhatsApp, to minimize synchronous meetings. In addition to this, collaborative learning strategies and qualitative evaluation were developed. Through observation and registration of all interactions during classes, it was clear the adaptation needed in the teaching tools available to reach local students during remote classes period. It was found that collaborative learning and qualitative evaluation promote a nice environment to remote classes. As a result, we can point socialized knowledge building, dropping out of school reduction, and cooperation among students.
