Remote work in the pandemic and the teaching work in public universities

Abstract

This article intends to build a record, a memorial, about the remote work of the professors at Espírito Santo Federal University during the COVID 19 pandemic. As a methodological strategy, we made use of both an oral history and a cartographic management interview. The methodological approach utilized, based on oral history, was due to the fact that we bet on the power of narrating. A research that de-subjects and includes what is said, embraces the narratives at the time of the conversation, taking unpredictable directions, affirmed in their immanence. The interview followed a cartographic approach, that is, listening to how, from a historically and culturally situated experience, professors produce themselves as subjects in the midst of the remote work in the COVID 19 pandemic. Another methodology used was that of instruction to the double, which is a method of apprehension of the ways in which work moves and workers always create renewed forms of acting. In this research, we were interested in accessing the way work is carried out. Teachers' speeches bring us closer to exactly what they use to handle their activity; which are considerable. If we consider that health is normativity, we affirm that these professors, in spite of all the adversities, manage, with effort, to create new standards of life to cope with a job that is now more lonely, precarious and tiring.
