Resumo
Introdução e Objetivo: Esta revisão tem como objetivo responder à pergunta norteadora "Qual a participação da alimentação escolar na garantia da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional durante a pandemia de COVID-19?”. Métodos: A metodologia foi delineada baseada nas recomendações do Prisma (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) e as buscas foram realizadas, de forma sistemática, no SciELO, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, Pubmed, Web of Science e o Portal de Periódicos da Capes. Os termos de pesquisa utilizados foram “alimentação escolar” e “COVID” ou “pandemia”, e seus correspondentes em inglês. Foram incluídos ao final 14 artigos originais, que trazem dados referentes a operacionalização da alimentação escolar durante o fechamento das escolas no Brasil, Estados Unidos, Canadá, Nigéria e países da América Latina e as diferentes formas de distribuição de alimentos para garantir aos estudantes o direito à alimentação. Resultados e Discussão: A maioria dos países avaliados nos estudos conseguiram continuar a oferta alimentícia utilizando kits de alimentos perecíveis e não perecíveis, porém auxílios financeiros e alimentação pronta também foram oferecidos, especialmente no Brasil, Uruguai e Colômbia. A oferta de alimentação escolar de forma alternativa, durante a pandemia, ocorreu de forma universal em algumas localidades, enquanto outras fizeram recortes financeiros baseados na baixa renda da família, ou não mencionaram sobre a cobertura das ações. Conclusão: Os dados encontrados evidenciam a importância e o suporte da alimentação escolar durante a pandemia de COVID-19 na garantia da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional.
