Abstract
This is a review drawn from the book by Mônica Nickel, entitled "Educação do Campo: formação continuada de professores na prática" ("Rural Education: a continuing education of teachers in practice"). The work discusses the continuing education process of rural teachers in the municipality of Domingos Martins and its contribution to the teaching praxis, as well. It highlights the importance of establishing partnerships between the Department of Education and the University, with a view to strengthening continuing education in the municipality. The continuing education of rural teachers was made up both procedurally and historically, contributing to the strengthening of the ethnic and cultural identity of the peoples of the territory, aiming the change in the pedagogical practice, configuring itself as a public policy in the municipality.
